One day, when swimming, she finds a Murdered body that resembled that of someone she knew and becomes involuntarily involved in a mystery that leads to the truth of her origin and starts fearing for her life. When Jane finds that the paranormal creatures are real and live among humans, she doesn’t stay skeptical for long. One day during her nightly, stealthy swim in the cold winter ocean, a grisly search leads Jane to revelations about her heritage that she is half-human. Since then, she’s suffered a breakdown and has only recovered partially. Things get worse after Jane’s high school lover drowns, and the whole community blames her for the death. Jane’s past is really tragic, and even though life has her taken down, readers can still see how she’s ready to be submissive to the people who hate her. She’s also involved in the death of Jason, her boyfriend, in a suicide-rescue attempt case. In addition to walking naked, she stole the town’s most eligible Bachelor then left him and his daughter several years later. Jane has been an outcast in her town after her mother came to the neighborhood naked. She’s well known in the town because her mother is the woman who disappeared 20 years back, leaving her with her father. She works in a bookshop and lives with her sick father. While living in the small town of Rockabill, Maine, Jane True always knew she couldn’t fit in with the normal society.
